Get Involved.

Our aim of Wargrave Big Local has been to enhance the opportunities and experience for Wargrave residents. As a former industrial and proud working-class community, Wargrave has suffered a loss of identity over recent years, along with a lack of any real opportunities or direction. Throughout the programme so far we have strived to offset this and improve lives.

The road ahead

Help build
and thrive
our legacy.

We hope to change thinking, so that Wargrave residents develop aspirations – to find employment, to be mentally strong, and to care for others, being a good neighbour and friend. Engaging residents in the decisions that are made about them is key to our success.

It is vital that decisions involve the people that it will directly influence.

Big Local – Ethos and values.

In terms of scale, time horizon and ethos, nothing like Big Local has ever existed. Designed from the outset to be radically different from other funding programmes, at the heart of Big Local is a vision of empowered, resilient, dynamic, asset-rich communities making their own decisions on what is best for their area. localtrust.org.uk

Residents who are on the Partnership make decisions based on our own experience and the needs we have identified in Wargrave. We have worked with many of our residents through the organisations we support.
